Ningbo Youth Art Exhibition is one of the most important art events in Ningbo. Most of the artworks are produced by young local artists. It is open to every art amateur in Ningbo, including the international community. Contact them by email to send your artwork to the exhibition.

Min Guang Cinema is located opposite the west entrance of Tian Yi Square. It has 7 screens. Some imported movies have English audio with Chinese subtitles, and some are dubbed into Chinese - call ahead and check before going. Most movies from Hong Kong have English subtitles. Min Guang Cinema has a concession stand selling popcorn, beer, and cokes.

Xinhua bookstore is the biggest bookstore in Ningbo, and China's largest chain. They have imported English-language books on the 3rd floor, and imported music CDs on the 2nd floor. You can request a book, and if it is available, it will arrive at the store in a few days. Xinhua also offers a selection of maps on the 1st floor, as well as children's books - great for learners of Mandarin Chinese!

Yi Fu Theatre is centrally located near Tian Yi Square. It is the base of traditional Chinese opera in Ningbo. They show Yue Opera, and Ningbo's own Yong Opera. You can see a sample of Chinese opera at any time by turning your television to channel CCTV-11.
