Old Friend Bar, or Lao Peng You in Chinese, is a roomy bar with lots of space. In the entrance, there is a selection of magazines in Chinese, and games such as Chinese checkers, Chinese chess, Go, and pick-up sticks. A bigscreen projection TV shows karaoke. Sometimes, the boss will come in to play the piano. The second floor has a selection of very private rooms. The girls behind the bar will talk to you, if you can get them to stop playing cards with each other.

348 is Ningbo's biggest dance club. The DJs keep the music going nonstop. A trampoline-style dance floor lets you dance the night away. The house is always full on weekends. Private rooms are available for people who don't like to mix with the crowd. As you might guess from the metal detector at the entrance, and the many security guards in the club, 348 has a spotty reputation. Foreigners don't usually have a problem, however.

A8 is a nightspot for Ningbo's trendy Chinese residents. It has been recently renovated in May 2006. The prices and the atmosphere are both high-class. Comfortable furniture and an attentive staff make A8 a nice experience. Attractive bar girls will entertain you by playing dice, drinking drinks, and talking to you, though none speak English. Pole dancers perform on top of the bar when the DJ takes a rest. A good place for drinking with your Chinese business colleagues.

Located in the rapidly developing Lao Waitan district, Bourbon Street is a nightclub with a dance floor. Foreign beers such as Guinness and Kilkenny are on tap. Live music and dancing girls keep the party going. Bourbon Street is one of the best dance clubs in Ningbo right now, it's very popular with the international community. Also, they are associated with Ala Bar, and you might see some of the same people in both places.
