1982 is Ningbo's only venue for live rock music. A bit hard to find on the second floor of Gu Lou, 1982 is worth the trip. A few times every month, there is a live rock band playing. The bands are either international bands on tour, bands from other parts of China, or local bands. The locals might not be the most skilled musicians on the planet, but they have heart and soul, and that's what matters. The bands from other places can be quite good - a rule of thumb is the farther away, the better.

On other nights, 1982 serves cheap beer and karaoke. The owner runs this place as a labor of love, it doesn't make any money and he only keeps the place open because his spirit of rock is unstoppable.
