0574, named after our local telephone area code, is a true local restaurant. This location, one of many 0574 restaurants around Ningbo, is situated in a new area of Jiangdong District behind Baizhang Lu. This area is filled with many new restaurants of all flavors. 0574’s large round tables are usually filled with loud group of people enjoying food and drinks. This is a restaurant that you go with a few friends or colleagues. The five of us enjoyed many dishes that evening which will be described below, but the best and true Ningbonese dish is the crayfish or “crawdads”. These little lobsters (translated literally from Chinese, “little dragon shrimp”) are huge at this restaurant, and let me tell you, they are delicious. We had the big platter, one and a half kilograms served with just the right amount of spices, so roll up your sleeves and dig in. The dish was so good that we ordered another one.
