A new standard has been set in Ningbo. Elements, the first true Western restaurant in the city. The decor is subdued and tasteful. On the dinner menu there are salads, appetizers such as bruschetta, fried calamari, seafood fondue, and entrees including linguine, fettucine, fish platters, and of course USDA Angus AAA steaks of ribeye and beef tenderloin. Desserts such as creme brulee, Mississippi mud cake, and apple pie and ice cream.
The lounge on the first floor has ample seating on sociable couches. The bar can create a wide variety of cocktails, including several that can only be found at Elements. Erdinger beer from Germany is on draft. The wine list is from France, Chile, Australia, with whites from Italy and Slovakia. The coffee is Mokarabia brand, imported from Italy.
There are several innovations that set Elements apart from other restaurants in Ningbo. Proper place settings, proper napkins, a water glass regularly refilled with water, and a real butter knife! A children's menu is also available at a reduced price. It's these little touches that makes dining at Elements such a great overall experience.

Good Food
Hello.
My wife and I went to Elements the other night. Her salad was good. I ordered the 1/2 chicken. It tasted good, but was a little disappointed in only getting one chicken leg, one wing and a little white meat. I guess, that is normal. So, don't be suprised if you don't get an actual half chicken. I should have tried the steak meal set.

service so so
I went there on tuesday night. There were not many English speaking staff available. We were there for a business dinner. Since I was not hungry, I asked what kind of soups they had, and if they had any other kind of soups that weren't on the menu. The waitress had a hard time explaining it. I tried to ask some other waiters to see if they could explain better, but they just laughed at me (because they did not speak any English). When I said never mind..I don't want soup- because I wasn't sure what I would end up getting, she just laughed when I decided to order just a salad (because I was not hungry..but was there for business reasons and not hunger). Believe it or not, that happens sometimes. Anyhow..I felt that was a little rude. Yes, the food may be palatable and easy to eat for foreigners, but the service is not the friendliest, and English speaking only limited to "here's your food" and "thank you " or "your welcome". Prices are also quite high, which I don't understand. There are other decent restaurants in Lao Waitan area, where you only need to spend 200 Yuan for two people and wine or champagne. The lounge (lido?) is pretty cheap and food decent (the first floor lounge, not second). I'm surprised, because I've had good experiences with elements before, but I guess they're not that consistent.
Almost There
Yeh i rocked in there with a loud crew of boys and we destroyed any romantic ambience that other couples were having so sorry about that - I was drunk and disorderly - but I still love my food and service - the general waiting staff needs some more training for sure ... we in Ningbo and not Shanghai so I expect no one to speak english - if they did my mandarin would be even worse or non existant ... but stuff coming out in the wrong order is not great ... besides that the ribs were good, the strip loin great - booze, people, atmosphere were spot on ... I first came to ningbo in 1999 - I still have flash backs - this place is good - a little expensive for ningbo (maybe) - but get used to prices in china going up across the board - everyday i get a brow beating by customers about prices going up .. all in all i had a great meal and a good time - the service mess ups were actually entertaiment value for me so it was all good - GREAT JOB SLICK RICK ...
