Finally! Amore’s has opened and the food was well worth the wait! The location is the old Ciao Italia on Jiangdong Nan Lu. After some management changes, it has reopened as Amore’s. The service is much improved, as is the overall décor including the new plasma television and the wine room. Head Chef Alessandro Albertino from Italy takes pride in serving delicious meals to Amore’s patrons.

The most important improvement is the food! The new menu is 10 pages. There are full menu pages devoted to each of the following: starters, soups, pastas, pizzas seafood and desserts. In addition there are varied dishes with beef, chicken and duck. The desserts were fantastic - we recommend the tiramisu and the zabaione.

Freshly baked breads (also top–notch), quail eggs and pesto are offered complimentary with each table. We ordered the following: Insalata Caprese (a salad of tomato, big chunks of mozzarella, and basil), lasagna, petto di pollo al limo (lemon chicken) and Caesar salad.

The wine offerings are varied. Both red and white wines are available from Italy, Spain, California, and France. White wines range from ¥145-360, and reds from ¥150-460. There is Tiger Beer on draft as well as a good selection of domestic and imported bottles. Being a true and legitimate Italian Restaurant, the coffee/espresso is flavorful and one of the best we’ve found in Ningbo.

Amore’s is a perfect place to take your loved one for a romantic dinner. Of course it’s also a perfect place to go when you’re just hungry and want great Italian food. We were extremely satisfied and our bellies thanked Amore’s!
