The Ningbo Museum of Art is one of the museums managed by the Ningbo Federation of Literary and Art Circles, established in 2005. The mission of the Ningbo Museum of Art is to preserve the cultural heritage of Chinese art and promote art with a local focus. The 23,100-square-foot museum complex includes a collection gallery space, artist studios, an art education centre and an auditorium. Collections include oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, and photographs created by Chinese artists.

The Art Education Center offers lessons in traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, and powder & charcoal drawing, as well as children's painting classes. To enroll, contact Ms. Wang Jing at 0574-8764-3222.

Traditional Chinese painting: Twelve 90-minute lessons in a 6 week course - ¥400 for beginners, ¥600 for advanced.
Powder & charcoal drawing: Twelve 2 1/2 hour lessons in a 6 week course - ¥600
