Established in 1843 and formerly named Huamei Hospital, Ningbo No. 2 Hospital is one of the oldest Western-style hospitals in all of China. They have a full-body CT machine, NMR, and other sophisticated, modern equipment. It is an extensive and nationally grade three hospital with 802 beds and is also a part of the Asian Emergency Aid (AEA) network.

1. Department of Ophthalmology provides the treatment of eye diseases of all kinds. They carry out the treatment of cornea transplantation, cataract removal, implantation of artificial lenses, operation of vitreous body and retina and also provides treatments of fundus diseases, ametropia, amblyopia, strabismus and ocular tumors.

2. Department of Stomatology provides the treatment of stomatic (mouth) diseases of all kinds. They carry out the diagnosis and treatment of odontal disease, oulonitis, alveolysis, and they are especially excellent in the treatment of blennasis. They also have a special outpatient department to treat diseases like stomatic pain, orthodontics, tooth-plantation, and dentures.

3. Center of Urology provides treatment for urinary diseases of all kinds and carries out extracorporeal lithotripsy and regular operations of more than ten kinds of urinary diseases. They also perform endoscopic kidney exeresis in the abdomen, which is the first of this kind in Zhejiang Province.

4. Department of Orthopaedics focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of vertebra and some main joints. They also carry out operations on the spinal cord, artificial joint replacement, and prostheses.

5. Department of Tumor is the most important service in the city. They carry out the operation of tumors of all kinds with therapies including radiopraxis, chemotherapy, immunity, and traditional Chinese medicine to strengthen body resistance. The results are typically excellent. Being one of the earliest hospitals that carried out radiology treatment on tumor diseases, they are equipped with some advanced facilities like a linear accelerator and an analog locator.

6. Center of Burn Cases is the only burn treatment center in east Zhejiang Province. They undertake the treatment of burn cases and have saved a great many patients who suffered from extensive burns.
