Yu Dong Shen is a tailor who makes custom suits for men. His work is excellent quality, and recommended by many foreigners who live in Ningbo. You can get a three piece suit for about ¥600, total cost. First, you must purchase fabric at the fabric market. Then, bring the fabric to him, and he will take measurements and make the clothes. Or, you can buy fabric from Mr. Yu - his fabric is high quality, but more expensive. You decide the details - how many buttons, cuff style, collar style, lapels, and so on. Mr. Yu has catalogs where you can choose a style from pictures. He will then measure you and start to work. After one week, come in for your first fitting. After two weeks, the clothes will be finished. Also, you can bring a piece of clothing to his shop, and he will copy it. Mr. Yu does not speak English, so you will need to bring a translator, or learn the special Chinese words used by tailors. His shop is located across the street from Central Gardens, an apartment complex where many members of the international community live.
