Shopping in Ningbo

Ningbo has many shops, department stores, and markets to choose from. Clothing is an especially good buy in Ningbo, as the city is a major garment manufacturing center. Most of the shopping is in the center of the city, near Tian Yi Square. Prices are posted at the department stores and regular shops, but at the markets, you will need to haggle with the shopkeepers. Identical goods are usually available from several places, so be sure to shop around before you buy.

Hangzhou is much better for shopping

Shopping in Hangzhou is much greater in Ningbo. you may buy things at very lower price, and things are quite unique and fashionable.

Shopping is great at Ling Qiao Guang Chang,  Chung Hwa Miao, Dong Ma Kou (Opposite tomorrows) and a market next door to the jiangdong carrefour in Ningbo.

Hi Hui

pasta ,preferably de Cecco you can buy at any of the majors like Metro,Carrefour,Auchan etc...Pesto you cannot buy but you can easily make.All you need is basil leaves fresh,olive oil,pine nuts,garlic and parmiggiano cheese.The basil pine nuts and garlic are easily available at all good Chinese sources.The Olive oil again at any major above and the Parmiggiano cheese unfoprtunately is only available at Metro  in the cheese and yougurt department,(refrigerated area).But get ready...... Parmiggiuano cheese costs $80 USD a kg.You make Pesto using the ingredients I just told you and you can easily make it if you have a kitchen robot,sold at all majors.

You can make a small batch or a larger batch and then bottle it and refrigerate it.If you need help just get back to me and I will get you the recipe.You can make pesto very quickly ,like 10 minutes.
