Does anyone read a book named "the world is flat"
Does anyone heard the popular book named "the world is flat ",one friend adviced me to read it and said perhaps can get more new ideas of Globalization process.
It was on radio that there are quite a lot of people in Eu even believe until now that the earth is flat. They actually set up an association。
Never heard about EU people believe the earth is flat...and I am from EU ! It was on radio ???
Probably it is based on a kind of joke ( answer ) you tell somebody who is trying to make you believe unbelievable stories ...
Such as ...
...and the earth is flat....
...and Michael Schuhmacher cannot drive car...
...and Michael Jordan can't play basketball...
...and Chinese don't like rice...
But also can't promise that there are NO people in EU who believe the earth is flat, how about other countries
point in the global historical and economics .

I have seen English and Chinese copies of "The World Is Flat" at the GUGO Xinhua bookstore.
I have read this book of Chinese edition. It just describes how Globalization took place in both developed and less developed countries, the key point is that you should put the lower part of your production-chain to developing counties because of their low costs and higher part to developed counties because of the high quality staff and innovation industry.

+1,but i dont think its a good book,it's a little boring ....
The World is Really Flat, by Thomas Friedman. I have the English edition in hardback. It's OK but the ideas aren't really all that new - just updating the concept of the global economy in it's present form. Frankly I can only read so much of that stuff before falling asleep, so it does help out with insomnia sometimes!
hehe, It's a book for businessmen
I think it’s an excellent book in explaining how we got to this point of Globalization. The scare of the Y2K bug and the collapsed of the dot com boom, which leads to the boom of
C-ya
when the crisis constantly effect nowaday worldwide, back to read this book published 2005 maybe can find some doubt of why the terrible crisis spread so rapid and profounded .
Waiting everything will be fine soon.

I haven't read it, but I'd like to. It's really difficult to find English books in Ningbo. So many bookstores only sell Chinese books. I haven't read a book (other than language book) for so long...
