I applaud Reindeer Station's honesty and transparency in ejecting this swindler. This sort of overcharging fraud is unfortunately far too common. I know of an apartment finding service that vastly overcharges its customers, and it's a disgrace that people are treated this way. Praise to Reindeer Station for ridding themselves of a conman and clearly disassociating themselves from him.

however, about the overcharging, i have a say to your agent, once i used Reindeer for assisting me with my chinese driver license, you charged me 800RMB, but as far as i am concerned, one of my friends, she got the chinese driver license only for 200RMB, does Reindeer offer service only for rich expats? i am too poor to use your service

Thanks for sharing, but is it moral to put one's name in public and critisize him/her ? it is not a pride for Reindeer to recruit someone like him/her, nor a wise idea to share your pain in public with us.
I know Jared (maybe not the same one?), i think he is a hell of decent guy, not a conman, i remembered once i lost my cell phone in a cab, i asked him for help because he is the guy looking for an apartment for me, and he called the taxi driver to return the phone, he helped me a lot, anyway. and he even refused my invitation to a cafe for all that he did. If this Jared is the same one of that Jared, i have to say, it is a rumor.
About overcharging, i agree with Etag. i once used their service for extending my F visa, they only fulfilled one application form for me, and they charged me 500RMB, i am poor too! i dont think i will use their service ever again. sorry
I am an expat from USA living in this fine city now for two years.I have used ningboguides site and information,but have stayed away from all the social politics.I have never used Reindeer Station and don't know Lily personnally,but do know Jared,and can tell you that he is one of the finest Chinese friends I have here.I believe this has all been done by Reindeer to discredit him so as to not damage Lily's position.I also know that Jared is very trustworthy and honest.He will find a good job soon and if this was the USA he would have a good case in court against Reindeer Station!

If the accusations are true, yes, it is moral and a common business practice in many countries to make the public aware that a person no longer represents the business, and in this case to apologize for fraud perpetrated by one of their agents.
The only moral issue is whether the accusations are true or not. If the accused party disputed the statements, the issue would typically be decided by a court of law which would determine whether the statements were true(and thus moral) or slander/libel.
If Reindeer's statements are true, it is their right, maybe their duty, to make it public.
and regarding pricing for driver's licenses: businesses can charge whatever they want in a market economy. if you think the price is too high or service too poor, don't use their service.
Etag, I don't think it's ridiculous at all. Reindeer Station performs a service, and that service has value. If you want to go to the license bureau and deal with the bureaucracy yourself, you're certainly welcome to do so. Likewise with the visas - you can do everything yourself. I know a lot of people who do, and it's always a hassle. Pay someone, and the problem goes away.

Thank you all for being aware of this issue, we already put it in a legal process, Jared has trained by Reindeer Station with the knowledge of service industry, but he used Reindeer Station's client resaurce to obtain his personal benifit, which against the working agreement he signed with us. Reindeer Station is a service company, we provide services to make profit, all our service charge standard is on the website, we sign the service agreement or confirm the price with the client before we provide the service for any free choices. We also appreciatted that poster #5 provided us one more possible evidence that Jared is suspected to against the work agreement with Reindeer Station.

So you think Reindeer sould only charge 200rmb at cost, for doing the service? they dont need to pay for the transportation, office rent, employee salary, and other office expenses? they cant make profit? did they ever tell you that they are not doing cherity? did they ever tell you the service fee before you decided to use the service? Or did Lily put a gun on your head to force you to use their service? I think all companies have and should have a target market, they cant make everybody happy after all.
No,I think everyone has a right to make a profit and charge for their fees. be mercy, no agressiveness, no one is putting a gun to anyone. people will decide to use your service or not, and also people will decide your charge is reasonable or not, and you dont have to tell us why you charge such a price and how you made your way to charge such a price.
No offense, but the eager you showed that want to clarify why Reindeer is not a charity and why you charge such a price makes you sound a bit guilty.
You basically accused Reindeer Station of being unethical for releasing the information, and if I remember correctly, you and others complained at RS's high prices with hints that the service itself was a con(a big rip-off). So don't be surprised when they defend themselves a bit.

Thanks for the post. I would hate for someone in my company to charge extra, steal clients, pocket money, issue fake contracts or other things that would damage my company.
Jared and people like him are what we as foreigners are always afraid of... employees scamming us for extra money when the company doesn't even know it.
.....is Jared the guy that posted on Ningbo Guide that Lao Wai's should be beaten up? If he was, Lily should have fired him a long time ago. Better late than never.
