Hello!
I am thinking about getting my Masters at Ningbo Nottingham
University, but I´ve heard the university is just a few years old,
so I don´t quite know what to expect.
What impression do you have about Nottingham Ningbo? How is it´s
reputation? Would be great if anyone had some information about quality
of teaching there.
Also, is it far away from the city, how convenient is it to live there?
Well thanks guys, maybe see you soon in Ningbo!
one of my friends studying there entertained me wamly today in his university, and found your topic in here should be a coincidence,I will tell some infomations of I know of it.
1.this university is a young one in ningbo ,only have 4years history ,but also is a first one taking classes from whole oversea teachers teams in ningbo even in china, the quality of teaching should be not bad,I know some teachers of its looks very nice and scholar, surely my chinese and expat friends studying in bachelor or master they didn't complaint a bit of teaching in front of me ,only for expensive tuition (hehe)
2.About the living ,I heard the dorm cost for oversea student will reach to 1500RMB per month, maybe you can find an outside one if school permit it but certainly the spending will not be cheap .
3.the location of this school is contained in Ningbo College Area,it is a little far from Ningbo city center(Tianyi square) ,but it is near to the new center we call it Wanda Square, you can take No.363 bus directly to these two centers both or take taxi if you like.
4.the last tips ,environment of campus like I mentioned before is good with huge square green and lawn ,by the way ,a new building standing there I found today, they called it new energy source office with solar and windy energy for making electricity(so cool)
more detail you can get from its website.
Good luck!

Well, the university has yet to issue any degrees. A big point is if they say "Nottingham University" and are treated the same as a degree from the UK, or if the diploma says "UNNC". I know girl who will be the first graduate of the school, and she assures me that the former is the case, but we'll see. This is exactly the sort of shenanigans local schools are notorious for.
It's a little far out of town, but the town is growing that way, so soon you won't have to go any further than Yinzhou New District for all of your needs.
One thing's for sure, Ningbo might not offer the level of support that you're accustomed to in the UK. Fair warning, lots of people complain that it's not like home.

thanks craig, well actually thats the reason why i first want to gather some background info about the school. What they write on their page just sounds too good to be true. Guess I´ll have to drop by and check it out first hand.
it is very funny to hear that " not feel like in home" for god sake it is china not UK, if you want to be feel like home why you have to come over and study in china?
BTW, i don't think it's a good university to go if you want to better teaching quality or get master degree, but it is good place to go if you like china but don't want to learn chinese.
This is not quite true. As far as I know, the rule is only that all classes are taught in English. An appropriately qualified and experienced Chinese person fluent in English would also be able to teach there, just as they could at Nottingham Uni UK.
I am pretty sure some Masters students have graduated already. It's only a one or two year course.
