Papa John's is literally next to Bella Roma..one door down on the right side. The owner is Chinese-Australian and wants to open three locations this year!
back to best pizza--O'reilly's over Amore's or Nico's?
well, i haven't had Amore's. But I would have to vote O'reilly's over Nico's because although I think the quality is similar and O'reilly's seems the better value.
Of course, it is very difficult to compare an authentic thin-crusted Italian pizza and a thick, covered in cheese and toppings, American one; both are amazing in their own right.
Pizza House across from Jiangdong carrefour is not excellent. But it's American pizza is very cheesy, and defnitely satisfies when in need of a quick pizza fix. 9 in for 42rmb.
pizza house is not to be laughed at. it is a quite respectable pizza. it is heavy on the cheese and bread and light on most else, but i doubt anyone who likes pizza will not like Pizza House's. this def is not "chinese" pizza, with corn and the like on top. Next time you are near Carrefour, splash out the 42 for a 9in American pizza have a bottle of bud and see for yourself.
Well, the "Sax" pizza restaurant we reviewed this month was pretty awful. I'll see if we can convince our food critic to do Pizza House and Papa John's in our next issue. Thanks for the tip!
Papa Johns for the best Pizza. Bye Bye Pizza Hut. Although, the other food at Papa Johns isn't so hot. If you want the other food, Pizza Hut still has the best spagetti. Sorry O'Reilies and the other Italian restaurants.... I'll stick with the american chains.
Just went to Papa Johns and it definitely trumps Pizza Hut in the American style category.
I like Bella Roma's Proscuitto & cheese pizza (definitely not American style, as my gut wasn't exploding in grease & oil after consumption). I haven't tried Amore's or the Irish pubs' though, so my vote can't be weighed too heavily.
I did try Nico's, I forget the pie I tried, but the meat on it wasn't too impressive.
Papa John's in Baizhang Dong Rd
is there really a Papa John's franchise here?
My tip for best pizza probably goes to O'reilly's or shamrock(whichever one is by the Sheraton).
Yes,it is a real Papa John's here.I went there yesterday.
wow, that's big news. any more details on location? how close to the river? or which side of Bella Roma?

I suppose we'll need two categories: thin and thick pizza. I didn't know about this "Pizza House" place, do they use pizza sauce or just ketchup?

C.G. I agree that Pappa Johns is good....but it's not real Italian Pizza....
How about Best American Pizza and Best Italian Pizza categories?
If I had to choose, I would choose
1. Papa Johns
2. Pizza Hut
3. Any pizza place in Tianyi square.
4. Go back home to US.

Hey Craig,
Whats wrong with ketchup? I love Heinz ketchup, Miracle Whip, Frenches Mustard, Bologna and white bread. America's finest gifts to haut cuisine.
