Hi everyone! I recently moved to Ningbo and I am staying for 10 months studying chinese at Zhejiang Wanli University. I guess I'll start off with a question; back in Sweden I play ukulele and banjo and it would be great to continue this hobby while in China (ukulele is the No 1 party instrument you know). However, from what I understand it may be hard to find instruments in Ningbo, can you help me or do I have to go to Shanghai? Looking forward to hear from you, cheers.
There are some instrument stores. However, I've never been inside one, just seen the guitars and pianos and such inside. As a general rule, if it's an imported product, you should bring it with you. Do ukuleles appear in Chinese music?

As far as I know, ukuleles are not associated with Chinese music. However, almost all ukuleles on sale in Sweden are made in China, but on the other hand, China is large and the instruments may very well all be exported.
i know where quite a few stores are. The easiest one to fine is probably between ChengHuangMiao and Moon Lake.Go to ChengHuangMiao. Go West on the small road so that McDonald's is on your right and KFC will be up ahead on the left corner. (still going West, towards Moon Lake) cross the street...and it's just a few shops down on your left.
