Taipei Palace Museum is one of the world’s leading collections
of ancient Chinese art treasures, but because of the age of
degeneration and aging most of them have been hidden for decades
in the private room in the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Since
the early 1970s, the Museum has commissioned reproductions
by the world’s leading ancient Chinese paintings and calligraphy
copy specialized agencies. After more than 20 years, the original
color, size, and texture are completely consistent and truly reflect
the subtle changes of Chinese ink painting.

Shaoxing Opera “Liang Zhu”

This Shaoxing Opera is based on the famous love story “Butterfly
Lovers” (Liang Zhu), the best-known and most popular in
all of China. A woman disguises herself as a man to study, falls
in love, but in her absence is betrothed to another man. On her
wedding day, he dies of misery and she commits suicide, and
both are transformed into butterflies by the merciful gods. This
piece, composed in 1958, set Chinese music to a Western symphonic
medium, and has been staged internationally. Performed
by the Zhejiang Small Hundred Flowers theatrical troupe.
